Leap Architects
Leap Architects is a young, creative & design-led architectural practice based in Thame, Oxfordshire. We’re working on a wide variety of exciting projects ranging from small to mid-sized local residential projects to £6m+ commercial, church and community projects and site-wide estate masterplanning schemes of £30m+ generally within a 2-hour drive radius of Thame.

We value people and are relational in our approach, working closely with clients and our network of design consultants and contractors as well as our in-house team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic architectural technologist to join us in our Thame studio to work on all aspects of design delivery and client engagement with a particular emphasis on construction detailing. 

Job role
The successful applicant will work as an integral part of our growing team, working with architects and our junior technicians to develop building designs from initial concept through each RIBA workstage through to contract administration & completion of the finished project on site. 

The size of the practice and the nature of our work means that there is plenty of opportunity to find your fit and to excel in any or every aspect of the architectural design process from initial client meeting through design development to technical detailing and construction workstages. 

Job context
  • Working in all aspects of architectural design projects but with particular focus on detailed design development through to project completion
  • Ability to prepare technical drawing packages for larger, more complex projects or small projects, working both independently and/or as part of a team
  • Able to think creatively and with a can-do attitude to problem solving
  • Ability to act as lead consultant on a project, managing the design team & coordinating information across disciplines.
Qualifications & skills 
  • Recognised architectural technology qualification / degree with minimum 3 -5 years post qualification experience
  • Ideally CIAT accreditation or working towards accreditation
  • Highly proficient in Revit & AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite would be beneficial
  • Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, design standards & best practice
