Chilton House
|
When our clients moved into this three bedroomed house, it had a cottagey charm to it but not enough space for family living. The two story extension to the side and comprehensive reordering of the rest of the house has given beautiful, light-filled living accommodation, well suited to the everyday needs of the family.
On the ground floor opening the front door gives extended views through the generous family room and kitchen into the garden beyond. The separate living room, new study, toilet, utility & boot room and snug as well as the stairs are all accessed from the kitchen and family room. On the first floor a good-sized master bedroom with vaulted ceiling and ensuite shower room has been added, in such a way that it could be subdivided in the future to provide a fifth bedroom. The bedrooms are all good sizes with space enough for a second ensuite shower room to the guest bedroom. Despite the scope of the project and the size of the extension the cottage appearance has been retained and stays true to its village setting. |
