Grade II* listed church reordering
The Church of St Mary is a splendid landmark building designed by eminent Victorian church architect G.E. Street. Like so many Victorian church interiors, the inherent spatial quality is wonderful but the layout and inflexibility of the furnishings hinder the uses to which the building could otherwise be put. Early design proposals have been developed for consultation involving removal of the pews and sensitive adaptation of the building to better suit the mission of the church.
